Can Charlie Cale be fooled? The “human lie detector” played by Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll) may meet her match in Season 2 of Peacock’s hit mystery-of-the-week series, Poker Face, which returns Thursday, May 8.
John Cho, who is just one of over three dozen guest stars, hopes to be the first person to stump our trusty protagonist in the official trailer for the next 12 hour-long episodes. Set to the badass power chords of Heart’s “Barracuda” (a reference to Charlie’s retro vehicle of choice as well as her keen, almost predator-like ability to sniff out guilty criminals), the footage below hypes up the stacked roster of A-listers and the appearance off a snarling alligator named Daisy. Yes, you read that right!

“Each episode is a mini movie, existing in its own world with a unique tone and vibe, featuring an eccentric lot of characters played by a truly gonzo parade of guest stars,” Lyonne and series creator Rian Johnson (Knives Out) said in a previously released statement. “We still can’t believe we got to work with rockstars like Cynthia Erivo, Katie Holmes, John Mulaney, and Awkwafina (and many many more, the list is kinda dizzying) who all dove into the game with joy and came ready to play. Twelve killer new episodes are coming your way. Buckle up and see you on the road!”
In addition to writing and directing, Lyonne and Johnson also serve as executive producers with Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman, Lilla Zuckerman, and showrunner Tony Tost.
