Universal Studios Hollywood is once again diving into the folklore of Latin America with a third Monstruos haunted house set for Halloween Horror Nights 2025.

While not much information is available at this time, the social announcement, which you can check out below, did confirm that Monstruos 3 will spotlight three famous paranormal beings: La Llorona (aka “The Weeping Woman” known in several Latin American countries), La Muelona (a flesh-eating monster from Colombian mythology), and La Siguanaba (terrifying a horse-faced entity from El Salvadoran tradition).

The Monstruos banner began as a Universal Hollywood scare zone in 2022 before receiving its own house in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

“It starts with research and I do research on everything that we do. If it’s a movie, I’m probably going through 40,000 still images to find the few hundred images that we’re gonna use for our art department as inspiration. With original houses, it’s different,” John Murray, Creative Director Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, said last year while in conversation with MUSE TV.

“It starts with the characters. So once we knew which characters we wanted to feature, you learn everything you can about all the different versions of the stories that have been told over the years,” he continued, later concluding: “It’s a whole big process.”
