The most recent comments about The Last of Us: Part III came from Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, who wrote and directed the first two games. During a promotional interview for The Last of Us Season 2, Druckmann was inevitably asked about a third game. He said he’s not ruling it out, but he’s not confirming it either.
