When we last saw Luke Roman (Tim Rozon) and Susan Ireland (Sarah Levy) in the Season 2 finale of SYFY‘s SurrealEstate, the bickering supernatural real estate agents had finally come to a place of accord, finding mutual appreciation of their friendship and their partnership in paranormal property sales.

How to Watch

Watch the Season 3 premiere of SurrealEstate on Thursday, April 3 at 10/9c on SYFY.

But they also watched just about every collaborator in their Roman-Ireland Agency leave to independently pursue new professional opportunities. August Ripley (Maurice Dean Wint) took his technical skills to the private sector at his girlfriend Rochelle’s (Joy Tanner) R&D company; ex-Catholic monk Father Phil Orley (Adam Korson) took a new job investigating for the Catholic Church in Rome; and front desk manager Zooey (Savannah Basley) decided to go to law school.

When SurrealEstate Season 3 returns to SYFY April 3 at 10:00 p.m. ET, three years have passed inside the world of the show, but there’s still plenty of flux going on inside the agency. In our SYFY WIRE exclusive catch-up with Rozon and Levy, the pair set the table for how Luke and Susan are trying to grow the business in the right direction.

Tim Rozon says he got left off the SurrealEstate Season 3 email chain

Rozon and Levy said they were both thrilled when SurrealEstate creator George R. Olson got a third season green light for their series, but they were nervous about what the show would look like with all the changes after the second season finale, “Letting Go,” which wrapped up stories for several characters and set much of the supporting cast off in new directions outside the agency at the show’s heart.

“Even reading the scripts and shooting the final episode of Season 2 was a little bit unnerving, because you’re thinking, what is happening here? We didn’t know, as actors, as well,” Levy shared. “And it did feel real, and like, what does this mean? Is this the end? Is this group falling apart? There’s such wonderful chemistry. The cast just works together so well, that it was a little nerve-wracking.”

Which meant getting the first episodes for Season 3 were maybe even a little more important to give them insight into where Olson and his writers were taking the show. Unfortunately, Rozon just had to wait longer than anyone else to find out the answers to his questions.

“You know, it’s so funny. I was left off the mailing list of the first couple scripts. I was the one person. Not even joking,” Rozon laughed.

“A very good friend of mine — I won’t throw them under the bus, just in case I wasn’t supposed to get the first scripts — sent them to me. They might be on this Zoom, they might not be,” he said looking at Levy. “They were lovely enough to send me the actual scripts. So, I was a little behind, to be honest. But the good news is, we got [the season] all at once and I spent like the whole day and I read them all. I couldn’t put one down.”

Both Rozon and Levy were thrilled to read that Season 3 is literally a rebuilding season that will include some beloved familiar faces, like Dean Wint, Basley, Elena Juatco as Lomax, and even Tennille Read as Luke’s love that got away, Megan.

“Luckily, we have been able to — slowly but surely — pull people back into the orbit a little bit,” Levy said of how the season unfolds. “Considering we’re starting off Season 3 as the Roman-Ireland Agency, you kind of expect all the players to be there but they’re not. And it isn’t just your average agency. You need special people to work at this special agency. Luckily, we’re not without most of them for long.”
