Wynonna Earp alum Melanie Scrofano returns to the SYFY family in the teaser trailer for the network’s brand-new genre series, Revival.
Set to premiere on June 12, the project (based on the Image Comics title of the same name by writer Tim Seeley and artist Mike Norton) hails from creators/showrunners Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce. Scrofano leads the story as Dana Cypress, a single mother and small-town cop dealing with the fallout of a mysterious event in which dozens of local dead people suddenly rose from their graves.
Naturally, this scares the living, with folks like zealot Blaine Abel (zombie genre alum Steven Ogg) seeing the “Revivers” as an affront to God and the laws of nature. While a lot of these non-zombies seem to act and think like they did in life, some people with Revived family members begin to notice Pet Sematary-like symptoms in their loved ones, who “came back wrong.” Maybe sometimes dead really is better!
“The four-year journey to get here was tough, but REVIVAL has been the most creatively fulfilling journey of my life,” Koontz wrote on Instagram in late 2024. “Yes, it is daunting and at times completely insane. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m at home in the chaos.”

The main cast is comprised of Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp) as Dana Cypress, Romy Weltman (Murdoch Mysteries) as Martha “Em” Cypress, David James Elliott (Mad Men) as Sheriff Wayne Cypress, and Andy McQueen (Mrs. Davis) as Ibrahim Ramin.
Recurring stars include Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead), Phil Brooks aka CM Punk (Mayans M.C.), Gia Sandhu (A Simple Favor), Katherine King So (The Recruit), Maia Jae (In the Dark), Nathan Dales (Letterkenny), Mark Little (Doomlands), Glen Gould (Tulsa King), Lara Jean Chorostecki (Nightmare Alley), and Conrad Coates (Fargo).
“If I may, this show’s cast is one of its best features,” Boyce proclaimed on social media last year. “It is just an absolute cornucopia of talented and wonderful individuals breathing life into some really cool characters. And so much more to come, but the fact that I got to work with these people… I mean, I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
Koontz and Boyce serve as executive producers on the adaptation alongside Scrofano, Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, Samantha Levine, Neil Tabatznik, Daniel March, Greg Hemmings, Stephen Foster, and Amanda Row.
