With just mere hours left until servers go live, Path of Exile 2 has more than 1 million players who’ve purchased early-access editions of the game. Developer Grinding Gear Games “never expected” these numbers and is now warning about queue times during this weekend.
On X, the official Path of Exile account stated it wanted “to be upfront with you all” about the current situation for the action-RPG. Path of Exile 2 director Jonathan Rogers lays out things in a video, saying, “There are probably going to be some queues during the launch weekend.”
We’ve just reached 1 million Early Access redemptions. The support you have all shown for Path of Exile 2 Early Access is far beyond anything we could have ever predicted. However we want to be upfront with you all and let you know there may very well be queues over the weekend. pic.twitter.com/bwGpsVNdGU

Rogers notes that the team has ordered more cloud capacity as download numbers have increased for Path of Exile 2. But still, the director doesn’t know exactly how backend services will hold with the influx of players at launch. “We never expected things to go this big during [early access],” Rogers said.
