At long last, Jurassic World Rebirth is finally playing on the big screen nationwide (click here for tickets).

Picking up five years after Jurassic World Dominion (stream it on Peacock now), the seventh entry in the blockbuster franchise finds the escaped dinosaurs beginning to die out around the world, the explanation being that their prehistoric bodies cannot cope with our modern climate. The ones that haven’t gone extinct — again — exist in tropical areas near the equator, including the original R&D lab set up by InGen, where the company spliced together different species in an effort to keep up with waning public interest in resurrected dinosaurs.

A horrific security breach closed down the facility for good nearly two decades ago, but the abominable mutant rejects were left to their own devices. All these years later, the biggest specimens across sea, land, and air could hold the key to a medical breakthrough, which prompts a billion-dollar pharmaceutical company to launch a risky expedition to the dangerous island under the purview of soldier-turned-mercenary Zora Bennett (Black Widow‘s Scarlett Johansson).

Needless to say, things go wrong almost immediately as life finds a way…to chomp down on some tasty humans. That’s to be expected. Characters becoming a light snack for giant lizards is tradition, after all. The big question, however, is this: does Jurassic World Rebirth contain the first post-credits scene across the entire series?

Does Jurassic World Rebirth have a post-credits scene?

No, Jurassic World Rebirth does not have a post-credits scene. However, as the final titles roll, natural jungle sounds can be heard, perhaps hinting that we’re not out of the proverbial woods yet.

“I want these films to keep going, and there are things I wanna see personally,” Edwards told Collider. “As a filmmaker, I won the lottery getting to do this movie, and so I’m very happy where I am. I’ve been saying to everyone, and it’s 100 percent true, we’ve not had a single conversation about another film at all. I don’t know if it’s superstition or what, but I’ve not done it, [producer Frank Marshall’s] not done it, [screenwriter David Koepp’s] not done it, the studio’s not done it. And I’m gonna keep it that way tonight if that’s alright. We’ll just see how the world reacts when it comes out.”
