Lego Super Mario Display Models

The Lego Super Mario series is primarily geared toward kids, with interactive playsets allowing imaginative fans to build their own courses. But adults love Super Mario, too. Lego and Nintendo know this, which has led to a handful of building sets for adults. There are five of these in the Lego Super Mario line–not very many when you consider the first Super Mario Lego set debuted over four years ago. Unfortunately, these display models are rarely discounted. Fortunately, three of them are on sale now, with the Lego Piranha Plant being the most affordable at $48–its lowest price ever.

You can also save on the 2,807-piece Mighty Bowser set and the 2,646-piece replica of the Nintendo Entertainment System. The latter is only receiving a small discount, but like the other two, it sells for full price more often than not.

While it’s not on sale, you should also check out the new Mario & Yoshi pixel art display model, a new Lego display model for adults that launched on October 1.

Lego Super Mario Playsets

On the playset side of the Lego Super Mario line, you can save on building kits featuring Peach’s Castle, the mine cart ride from Donkey Kong Country, Dry Bowser’s Castle, and more. All of the Super Mario expansion sets interact with Lego Mario, Peach, and Luigi figures, which are included with the starter courses. A refreshed trio of starter courses released in August, and while they aren’t on sale, they carry $50 list prices, 10 bucks less than the original ones.

That said, many of the Lego Super Mario expansion sets are fun builds that look great as display pieces, too. One example of this is Bowser’s Muscle Car, a 458-piece kit featuring King Koopa behind the wheel of his stylish ride.
