An Apex Legends developer has responded to fan requests to use Crafting Materials to purchase exclusive skins as they’ve got no use for them otherwise.

It has been over five years since Respawn Entertainment first launched Apex Legends, and the game has undergone a huge number of changes. Plenty of OG players have stuck around since the early days and are able to flex their longevity on newer fans with old skins.

A lot of the old skins are incredibly rare these days, be it because they were a part of a collaboration or limited-time releases, but Respawn have brought a few oldies back through the Legend Locker.

The Legend Locker allows fans to catch up and purchase some old character and weapon skins. With it being a premium set of skins, you are only able to use Apex Coins to purchase them. However, fans want that to change.

Respawn responds to Crafting Materials request for Legends Locker

Some Apex players have suggested that Respawn should allow them to use Crafting Materials to buy items from the Legend Locker, given that they’d be going to waste otherwise.

It is something that has caught the attention of Respawn’s Senior Community Manager, Thieamy, who responded.

“Can’t guarantee anything one way or another, but I’ve passed the request and feedback along. As someone with far too many CMs, I’d love more options to use them,” they said

The Respawn dev is passing on the request.

Some fans attempted to hammer home their point about Crafting Materials being a bit pointless by flexing how many they have going unused.

“They still should have added some new craftable skins. Season 13 was the last time. I have 57k crafting metals just lying about with basically no skins to craft because I have pretty much the entire pack pool,” one added.

Respawn has previously climbed down from just using coins to allow fans to purchase add-ons. So, maybe they’ll consider a tweak here too.
