The Switch 2 accessory is designed to make steering in-game with the new Joy-Con 2’s gyro controls even easier. A two-pack will cost just $25, making it a solid choice for local multiplayer matches. The official Joy-Con 2 Wheel Set includes light blue and red controller attachments that match the the color schemes of each Joy-Con. Beyond looking cool, the promotional images make it appear like the wheels have rubberized and/or textured grips. They look nicer than the regular plastic wheels that have been around since the Nintendo Wii era.
You simply slide your controllers into the center slots, and you’re ready to race with motion controls. The wheels are entirely optional, as you can play with tilt controls without any attachment, but these accessories do add a bit of realism and are comfier to hold than the tiny Joy-Cons. They are also great for local multiplayer parties and for youngsters.
If you want to save a few bucks, you can preorder a GameStop-branded Joy-Con 2 wheel set for $17. The official Nintendo Wheel Set looks much nicer, though.
Mario Kart World is going to be quite expensive at $80, so it’s nice that this optional pack of Joy-Con 2 Wheels is affordable. A cheaper way to get the game is by bundling it with the Switch 2 console, as the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle costs $500. The standalone console is priced at $450, so you’re essentially saving $30 when bundled together.
