After getting a feel for the Apex Legends 24.1 mid-season update, some players are ready to call it one of the best in the game’s history.

Apex Legends season 24.1 drastically overhauled the battle royale’s meta. Respawn listened to community feedback by nerfing the L-STAR, improving SMG ammo capacity, and buffing the Nemeis Burst AR.

In addition, the update added new perks to Skirmisher Legends to improve their mobility and ability to support an aggressive playstyle. Wraith finally received several buffs that restored the Legend to her former glory, and Alter and Revenant also saw much-needed buffs.

Respawn also introduced a new tier-based reset system to avoid the annoyance of a hard reset. Players praised the developers for all of the positive changes.

Apex Legends Season 24.1 attracts players back

Apex Legends streamer HisWattson claimed, “This is easily one of the best Apex seasons of all time. I think we might actually be back.”

ImperialHal has had his fair share of complaints about the game in the past, but even he praised the update for exceeding expectations.

“APEX IS BACK AND I LOVE IT,” ImperialHal exclaimed.

“One of the best patch notes in the history of the game,” Sweet added.

After starting the year with a troubling trend of declining player count numbers, Season 24 provided a much-needed spark in February. The battle royale saw a 36.7% average player increase in February with 95,100 players, and that momentum carried through March.

Some pros, such as Sweet, still aren’t optimistic about the game’s future, as he predicted that the ALGS will be dead in 2026 if the pro scene keeps trending in the same direction it’s going.

In saying that, Season 24.1 helped restore faith that the battle royale has a bright future. For more, check out everything we know about Resapwn’s secret FPS game that was canceled.
